As much as possible, as often as possible, for as many as possible

The Canterbury Academy is a large organisation which seeks to ‘improve the life chances of children and to help in the community’. It provides a number of services in the community and works in partnership with other organisations.

The Canterbury Academy believes in the comprehensive ideal and in inclusion and provides a wide range of educational opportunities for students across the area to enable them to better engage with education.

All children are good at something and some children need to find these things in different settings and engage in different ways.

The Enterprise & Employability College together with the 14-19 City and Coastal College offer qualifications in maths, English and other subjects and run programmes across a number of centres both in Canterbury and outside of it.

The Canterbury Academy seeks not only to create the employees of tomorrow but also the employers. Students are introduced to enterprise and as a consequence some wish to develop their entrepreneurial inclinations.

Students who wish to set up their own businesses can do so working with Ambition House, a company based in The Enterprise & Employability College, and some members of the sixth form are now trading.

This business start up facility and many of the programmes and services detailed on this page are available to other schools, organisations and the local community.
