Executive Principal of The Canterbury Academy Trust – Jon Watson
The Canterbury Academy Trust consists of ‘schools for all the talents’. Our key beliefs which underpin and drive all we do are simple. We believe that every learner matters and that every child is good at something – that all children walk with genius – and that school should be the place where children discover and build upon their own individual talents.
We believe in the comprehensive ideal. We believe that all talents should be valued. We believe that academic excellence is important but that there are also other important things. We believe that art, music, drama, sport, practical skills, being a good person, caring for and working with others are all valuable.
We believe in team work and that all of our students should have pride in themselves and their contribution to their school.
Our aim is to provide ‘as much as possible, as often as possible, for as many as possible’. We believe that education and learning can be fun. At the end of their time with us we aim for all our students to leave as happy, positive, confident individuals, proud of what they have achieved, prepared to be life-long learners and ready to play an active and constructive part in society.
CITY VIEW NURSERY ADMISSIONS
We believe that children begin to learn about the world around them, from the moment they are born. We provide care and education to help the children to build upon this learning, by providing activities that are suitable for their individual age and stage of development.
THE CANTERBURY PRIMARY ADMISSIONS
We are a popular, happy and friendly primary school which is set in spacious grounds within The Canterbury Academy Trust campus. We are close to the city but have unrivaled facilities in our state-of-the-art school.
THE CANTERBURY ACADEMY ADMISSIONS
As a result of our imaginative partnership with Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, The Canterbury Academy can offer the children and community of Canterbury and East Kent a genuine comprehensive option.
The Sixth Form at The Canterbury Academy has over 600 students and is one of the largest in the county. Students here will benefit from specialist teachers, a dedicated team of sixth form staff and specialist facilities for sixth form students.
We will be carrying out some essential maintenance on our Trust websites on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th July. As a result, our website and school telephone and answering machine systems will not work during this time . Should you have any queries during this time, you are welcome to come in to The Canterbury Academy reception and speak to a member of the reception team between the hours of 8am and 3pm. We anticipate that our website and all telephones will be fully functional again from Wednesday 31 st July. If this is to change we shall, of course, update you accordingly.
We apologise for any disruption and inconvenience that this may cause.
Thank you in anticipation.
