Welcome to the Canterbury Academy Open Events 2020. We have provided some relevant information below to enable you to visit our school, should you wish to. Please read through all of the information carefully before booking an event. We look forward to welcoming you and your son/daughter to one of our events.

Booking an event:

We would kindly ask that you only book one of our events per family, to allow as many people as possible the opportunity to visit our school. The ticket that you book allows you a maximum of four persons. Please do not feel that you have to use all four places. Booking can only be done via the Eventbrite booking site and will be done on a first come, first served basis. The details for the booking website are detailed below. By booking a place at one of our events you are acknowledging that you have read and accepted our terms and conditions for your visit. Banding Assessment:

Students wishing to apply for a place at The Canterbury Academy should register for a Banding Assessment by Monday 2nd November 2020

The dates and times of our events are;

  • Open Evening – Wednesday 7th October – A talk followed by a tour at:
    4pm, 4.45pm, 5.30pm, 6.15pm, 7pm or 7.45pm
  • Open Saturday – 10th October – A talk followed by a tour at:
    10 am or 10.45am
  • Open Morning – Tuesday 13th October – A tour at 9 am followed by a presentation at 10 am
  • Open Morning Wednesday – 14th October- A tour at 9 am followed by a presentation at 10 am
  • Open Morning – Thursday 15th October – A tour at 9 am followed by a presentation at 10 am
  • Open Morning – Friday 16th October – A tour at 9 am followed by a presentation at 10 am

Arrival at our campus:

Please allow adequate time to park and line up in the designated waiting areas, following the social distancing guidelines. Our staff will assist you with both of these.

On arrival, you will be asked to sanitise your hands and provide confirmation of your booking.

You will have the opportunity to receive a copy of our school prospectus and some additional relevant information should you wish. All of this information is also available on our website should you wish to download it instead.

All adults and children over the age of 12 will be asked to wear a facemask at all times while on our campus. If you have a medical condition which presents you from wearing a facemask please make this known to us at the time of booking. Unfortunately, we will no be able to welcome anyone over the age of 12 not wearing a facemask.

You will be asked to stay in your designated seats during the talk and you will be collected by your individual student tour guide at the end of the talk to begin your tour.

 

COVID Information:

Should anyone in your family show any symptoms of COVID before the event you have booked, please contact us to cancel your booking and do not arrive on campus. You can find a list of COVID symptoms by following this link https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

 

Tours of our campus:

Your family group will tour our campus with your individual student guide who will be happy to answer any questions, along with the staff you will meet on your way around the campus. All tours will be socially distanced and will follow a prescribed, one-way route. We would ask that you stay with your guide and in your family group at all times.

Please note that you may not be able to enter all rooms/areas and you will not be able to touch any of the books or equipment, but staff will be happy to show you examples of work where appropriate.

Exiting our campus:

Your individual student guides will take your family group to the relevant exit point at the end of your tour where you will be asked to sanitise your hands again.

Please then make your way back to your vehicle and leave the campus promptly. Our staff will be on hand to assist you.
